P.A. is developing a research project, and would like to ask for your help.

 

Dear Participant,

                The current study being undertaken by P.A.- Psicólogos Associados (Psychologists and Associates), a clinic which is constituted by a team of professionals specialised and experienced various areas of health, has the aim of exploring the relationship between identity, creativity, and certain emotional symptoms, with a target population of Portuguese youths and adults. Considering the lack of research in this area, PA envisions the creation of favourable conditions in which to deepen knowledge of these concepts and their interrelation; while bearing in mind the future creation of a theoretical model. On one hand, the relationship between identity and creativity will be explored, and on the other the relationship of these with psychological symptoms. 

                PA hereby invites you to complete a short Socio-demographic survey, with three constituents:

a)      A style of identity inventory (ISI5, Berzonsky, 2013), which studies personal styles of information processing, problem resolution, and decision making within the scope of (re)creating identity;

b)      A Scale of Thinking and Creating (Almeida & Nogueira, 2013), which analyses one’s preferred way of displaying creativity;

c)       An Anxiety, Stress and Depression Scale (EADS-21; Pais-Ribeiro, Honrado, & Leal, 2004), which identifies emotional symptoms experienced in the last week.

The study also requires a photograph of the inside of a drawer. This photograph will serve to operationalise the daily expressions of identity and emotion. After survey c), guidelines are given about the taking and mailing of the photograph.
